Traditional Timber Framing Courses

This course is intensive and has been very successful in inspiring and teaching people to build their own timber frames.
This years Woodenways timber framing course we will be building a 60ft span aisled barn using local timber converted on site at Woodenways, Hockworthy in Devon.
We cover the design of timber frames, how to cut timbers from a raw tree and show you how we professionally build them in our yard. You will learn about scribing, cutting, handling timbers, wall and roof layouts, milling curves, jowls and beam erections.
Visits to local projects wil be arranged and there are practical examples of different types of frame on our site to help explain the process.
There will be two teachers and 8 students max.
You can stay in my timber framed house, camp on site or stay in a local B&B at your own cost.

£700 (+VAT) Including accommodation and lunch
